DO NOT COPY THIS TEXT!

LETS GO SPREAD PEACE!!!
DAY 1
on the first day we worked on building our community, witch will help in the future so we are a big family, instead of a class. we added our thoughts about what is coming up, which will be below:
i am wondering what all this is going to be like, whether all the work we may be put through will be worth it in the end, whether the "worth" of it will be fun or will make you feel like you did something good for the comunity...
DAY 2
The second day half of the class went to
father joes villages to deliver cards but my class went to the miramar landfill. My half of the class went with another inter-session class to a landfill and, i didn't like what they were doing with the trash. they were basicly piling it up and burying it and piling more and more an more and the main guy said it would never go back to dirt and that the whole landfill would be full in 4 years and they would have to find another place to pollute. Then we went to the animal/plant manager. he was going to tell us about the different jobs he does to convert compost into soil and how he had to keep birds that were flying and attracted to the landfill away from the aircraft training center. he told us a story about how a bird flew into the engine of a multi-million dollar jet, bringing it down, and the pilot was forced to eject. the animal/ plant manager seemed more concerned about the jet then the poor pilots flying them.
And, he was complaining about how many indangered birds we have in our city, and behind him was a dead, stuffed seagull, on the hood of his car. he explained a reseon but then he told us there were much cheaper, safer, more humain ways and i started to wonder what he was actualy doing with that bird he shot out of the sky, for no aparent reason.
DAY 3
the next day we went to a glbt center, know as the center.
glbt stands for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transexual. the center is bescily for people who may normally get excluded from society, or at least thats how i took it. we had a long lecture, i was very hungry but i was very interested. we met a lesbian and a male who was born a female. she talked about how if a gay person has aids people say its their fault, but if there not gay, its a tragedy. we went to have lunch at a biiig fountain. the class was split up, and had no idea where the other half was. after a couple phone calls we disovered that the other half of the class was infact, on the other side of the fountain! the water rocketing up in the air 20 feet high was blocking our view.after lunch we went to special delivery
wich delivers meals to people with aids, diabetes, and other people who cant leave their homes. they gave us presents to deliver to people. we went and delivered to our first delivery, the man thanks us and went back inside. he looked very sick. the next person had a NO TRESSPASSING sign on the gate. we were scared but we had to enter. a lady came out taking whiffs of her cigarette then took her food and left. if it was her that was sick she realy should stop or if she was taking care of a sick person shes probably the one making her sick. the next person's address lead to a deserted resturant, well at least thats what it looked like. i met a cute little cat but we were running so we just moved onto the next person who was a nice old man, who told us a story of being told that he wouldent see the sun rise the following morning, and yet hes still alive, now he works as a lawyer. he hasnt lost a case yet, and suprisingly he doesent ask for any money, he said it was his way of getting back.
DAY 4
today we went to the wild animal park. it was very fun and we got a
"tour" of the behind the scenes area of the wild animal park. it started at the school then i got in my moms car, but the teacher didnt have enough drivers for the whole class. we were 1 seat short originaly we were going to ask another kid in the class to sit on the floor of my mom's minivan, but the teacher didn't approve. he thought he would take the blame if an injury acurred. we decided that i would sit on the floor so if i was injured my mom would take the blame. after a long and uncomfortable car ride on the floor of a van, we arrived at the park. we took a walk up hill to a room that looked like a classroom. we went inside for a lecture of the fires that destroyed part of the wild animal park. it was interesting but one of my classmates fell asleep during it. then we left the dark, uncomfortable room and went into a pickup with a large trailer with seats. we got a behind-the-scenes tour of the wild animal park. we saw gigantic rhinos and little dear and lots of things you wouldent normally see. when we arrived we were handed shovels and plants and me and the teacher planted some plants. we seemed to have used all the space in the area we we assigned, so i asked the leader where i should dig. he pointed to a small patch of gorund, stuck my shovel in a and pogo-sicked with the shovel on the spot. nothing happened.
then, i noticed a little bit of water. i said: what ever, and kept pounding. the teacher yelled FINISH IT! and i pounded one last time and water started spurting out of the ground. we noticed the i was smashing an irrigation pipe the whole time. it was a very fun and funny day.
DAY 5
on day five we had a diaper drive at target. we set up al or diapers on a table we got from the school, and all of a sudden the whole table collapsed. we were laghing but we had to set up everything again. then the target security guard thought we were selling targets diapers but we told him we were on a diaper drive for father joes. it was a nice and relaxing day.
DAY 6
where a principal came, and was greeted with a no-good school ruled by gangs, and gave out the message that, your gunna go to prison anyways, so why teach you? then the principal got fired and things got even worse. president bush's no child left behind act told them they had 3 options:
go charter
let the goverment take over the school
can the principal
the answer has its letters in delightful colors to symbolize the change the school has overcome... or whatever. they went charter. charter schools are free from normal public school laws and can fire who then want, and of course hire who they want, and then they hired the principal who they previously fired. he helped the school alot, and we got to meet him. he came from a family with 5 sons, 2 of wich went to jail and 2 who died of AIDs and HIV and nobody expected any potential in him. but he went to college anyway, and got a teaching credential. now, a fully funtional charter school has left the 70% dropout rate it once held.
DAY 7
day 6 was the last feild trip so we were working on the project all day. we are making a video. one of the group memebers had the old version of imovie on it and it was considerably easier to use. vewe came up with a good video intro but then it got deleted somehow. i worked on one myself(since the new version of imovie(the one i have)auto saves all your stuff i got a good intro up but it will take longer for me since the new imovie is complicated and inconveintent. the rest of the week we will be working on a video/slideshow with comentary on diversity and poverty...
DAY 8 and 9
we are working on the video although we decided not to have commentary and use the text in the video. all 3 group members have finish their videos and we have 3 videos now.
DAY 10
presentation day!!!!!!!!!!
today we did our presentations. the room was decorated with cloth walls to devide all the groups areas...we were sharing a room with another group so we had 2x the people in the small rooms. one of our group members was absent so we had to take care of his video.
it was hard work, but worth it. lots of people enjoyed our videos
that we worked for a week on. it was very life changing. please join us, and save the world...
thanks for reading my blog.

Wow Joe...such detail. :) I met that guy you talked about at the end of your post.

I like how you think about the whole issue! You see things that most often go unnoticed.

You are an integral part of this intercession and I am really enjoying getting to know you better. :)

Thanks for your humor in the tree planting.

Hey Joe this is Elijah. I really like that you have links to websites! It is really cool. You should also split up the days into different post though. Otherwise, it was so descriptive!
